We’ve all been there: you’re spinning the reels, a massive pile of cash symbols lands on the board, and… nothing. The Collect symbol is nowhere to be found. If that kind of tease frustrates you, Cash Blitz Extreme might test your patience. But before you write it off, there’s a lot going on under the hood of this 6-reel, 4,096-way slot that makes it worth a closer look.

With a massive 25,000x max win and a really clever progression system, this game has some serious firepower. I took it for a lengthy test run, here’s what I found, the good and the bad.

The Cash Collect Mechanic (and the Phantom Money)

Cash Blitz Extreme is built around a cash collection engine. Cash plaques with bet multipliers land constantly across the massive grid. But you need a Collect symbol to land on reel 1 or reel 6 on the exact same spin to sweep them up.

I’ll be completely honest: during my first 100 spins, I saw a lot of money left on the table. I had several boards land with over 20x in printed cash, only to watch it vanish because the magnet didn’t show up. When the Collect symbol did land for me, it was usually a modest haul, around the 5x to 7x mark.

However, the game is fair about this. When you miss a cash plaque, it’s not totally lost. Every uncollected cash symbol adds a token to the progressive jackpot panel above the reels, slowly raising the values of the Mini, Minor, Major, and Mega pots. It’s a great psychological cushion that makes those “missed” spins feel like you’re building toward something bigger.

The Jackpot Feature: A Nice Consolation

Those uncollected tokens are also your ticket to the Jackpot Feature. It triggered for me after about 80 base game spins. When it hits, the reels clear out, revealing a track of cash prizes and at least one guaranteed jackpot.

In my playthrough, I walked away with a string of small cash hits and the Mini jackpot for a total win of 16.5x. It’s not going to make you rich, but it functions perfectly as a secondary consolation prize while you hunt for the main bonus.

The Base Game Grind and the Multiplier Meter

Because this is a 4,096-ways game, the base paytable is understandably weak. A short Crown or Horseshoe way pays less than your stake, and even six Gold Bars only return 2.6x. The symbol you really want to see is the Chest, which pays 5x your bet for six-of-a-kind. Because ways multiply, stacking Chests on the first few reels is how you get decent base-game hits.

But the real reason you keep spinning the base game is the Bonus Multiplier Meter. Every time you land exactly two Bonus scatters on reels 1 to 5, it adds +0.5x to a meter that caps out at 5x. This multiplier does nothing for the base game, it just sits there, waiting to juice up your next bonus round. It’s a brilliant, if slightly agonizing, hook that makes you want to keep playing until you trigger the feature.

The Bonus Round: A Tale of Two Choices

When you finally land 3 or more scatters, you get to pick one of two completely different bonus rounds. Both will be played at whatever multiplier you built up in the base game.

I love a slot that gives players agency, and the two options cater to completely different playstyles:

  • Option 1: Cash Blitz (Every Spin Collects). This strips the board of normal symbols, leaving only cash plaques, blanks, and collectors. The best part? A Collect symbol is guaranteed on reel 1 every single spin, meaning no dead spins. This is also the only place you can land the massive 100x cash plaques. Every spin pays something, which is as steady as this game gets.
  • Option 2: Free Spins (Wilds and Chests). Cash symbols and collectors are removed entirely. Instead, the reels are loaded with extra high-paying Chest symbols, and Wilds on the middle reels carry 2x, 3x, or 5x multipliers. If multiple Wilds connect, their values combine before your global meter multiplies the whole spin.

The Verdict

If you’ve played Microgaming’s Bass Catch Super Luck, you’ll recognize the edge-reel collection mechanic. But where Bass Catch caps at 15,000x, Cash Blitz Extreme pushes the max win to an incredible 25,000x, on a 96% RTP.

The base game can be a grind, and watching uncollected cash fly by can be frustrating. But that slow drip of jackpot tokens isn’t the real draw here. The true thrill is building that base game meter up to 5x, picking the Free Spins feature, and watching multiplying wilds stack up with premium Chest symbols. When it fires, Cash Blitz Extreme absolutely lives up to its name.

Pros

  • Massive 25,000x max win potential.
  • Missed cash symbols build up jackpots, softening dead spins.
  • Excellent player choice in the bonus round.
  • Multiplier meter creates great anticipation.

Cons

  • You will see a lot of uncollected cash in the base game.
  • Standard symbol payouts are very low without multi-way multipliers.
