When Betsoft drops a new 3×3 slot, I usually expect a traditional, low-volatility fruit machine experience. Blazing Stallion is absolutely not that.

Beneath its classic three-reel, three-row layout lies a highly volatile math model that will test your patience but dangle some serious potential in return. With a 10,000x max win, dueling multiplier wilds, and a unique twist on the classic Hold & Win feature, there is a lot going on here. But is it worth your bankroll?

The Base Game: A Steep Climb

The base game paytable here is incredibly bottom-heavy. Across the 5 fixed paylines, four of the ten possible winning combinations pay your stake or less (with the lowest royal returning a measly 0.2x). Even the top standard symbol, a line of Wilds, only pays 10x.

Because raw combinations rarely cover the cost of a spin, you are going to see your balance slowly drain during the base game. Blazing Stallion relies entirely on its features to build anything substantial, meaning this is a game for players who don’t mind grinding through dead spins to chase a spike in action.

The Battle Wild Feature: Great Theatre, Mixed Results

To break up the base game grind, Betsoft has included the Battle Wild. When this lands on any reel (and only if it can form a win), it expands to cover the whole column.

This triggers a fun piece of visual theatre: two multipliers are drawn from a ladder ranging from 2x all the way up to 500x. They “duel” on screen, and the winner multiplies your win. If you manage to land two of these wilds on the same spin, their multipliers are added together.

Over a couple dozen spins, the mechanic fired a handful of times. The draws were modest, usually pitting a 2x against a 6x, with the 6x winning each time. On one lucky spin, it turned a 2x eagle win into a decent 12x payout. However, on another, it multiplied a 0.2x line to hand back a rather depressing 1.2x. The dueling animation is great, but remember: a massive multiplier is only as good as the payline sitting underneath it.

(Side note for Betsoft fans: You might recognize a similar dueling wild from Good Girl Bad Girl 2, though here it’s much more volatile. The ladder goes up to 500x instead of 100x, but it’s squeezed onto a much smaller grid).

The Hold & Win Trigger: Two Coins and a Collect

The defining feature of Blazing Stallion is the Hold & Win bonus, but the trigger mechanism can be a bit of a tease.

Cash coins only land on reels 1 and 3, while “Collect” symbols only land on the middle reel. To trigger the bonus, you need at least two coins and one Collect to hit on the same spin. The game doesn’t hide the fact that the outer reels are mostly bait. You will regularly watch big Grand, Major, or Minor coins drop on reel 1, but if that middle reel is empty, they are completely dead symbols. It’s a stark binary that might frustrate players who hate “teaser” spins.

Inside the Respins: A Unique Twist

If you do manage to trigger the bonus, Blazing Stallion flips the standard Hold & Win script.

The standard symbols are stripped away. The Collect symbols lock in place on the middle reel, while the outer reels spin to drop coins. Every time a coin lands, its cash value is awarded to every single Collect symbol on the board, and then the coin disappears to free up space. As usual, any coin resets your respins to three.

The number of Collect symbols you have locked in the middle is your bonus multiplier. In my session, I triggered the feature with a 1x and a 5x coin next to a single Collect. I managed to lock a second Collect later in the round, but because it missed the early coins, it started its count from zero. After seven respins, I walked away with a very modest 12x my stake.

Blazing Stallion is a game of extremes. Reaching that juicy 10,000x cap requires a perfect storm. You either need to fill the middle reel with three Collects early in the bonus and land a Grand Coin (which pays 3,000x, multiplied by your three Collects for 9,000x), or you need a top base game line sitting under two 500x Battle Wilds.

Should you play it?

If you prefer slots that deliver a steady stream of small wins and constant action, Blazing Stallion will frustrate you. The base game is harsh, and the middle-reel bottleneck for the bonus requires patience. However, if you are a high-volatility hound who loves classic 3×3 grids and the thrill of chasing massive multiplier alignments, Betsoft has built a very capable, if slightly unforgiving, beast.
