Here is our full breakdown of how Joker Miner actually plays.
Theme & Setup: Two Games in One
At first glance, Joker Miner looks like it’s having an identity crisis. On the 5×4 grid, it’s a traditional 25-payline fruit slot. But look above the reels, and you’ll find five brightly colored minecarts lined up on a heap of gold coins.
The entire game revolves around this setup. As you spin, colored coins land on the grid and fly up to their corresponding carts. The rules put the RTP at 96.05%. There is no Bonus Buy and no extra-bet mode here, old-school purists will appreciate this, but it does mean you are entirely at the mercy of the base game to trigger a feature.
The Base Game: High Volatility and a Frustrating Wild Rule
Let’s talk about the paytable. The Golden Seven is your premium symbol, paying a respectable 100x for a five-of-a-kind line. However, the drop-off is steep. Red Sevens pay 30x, Bells pay 20x, and the fruit symbols make up the low end, where landing three-of-a-kind won’t even cover your stake.
The Joker acts as the Wild, but it comes with a positional rule that might frustrate some players: it never lands on Reel 1 during the base game. Because wins pay left-to-right, a screen full of Jokers on the middle reels is completely useless if you don’t have a matching symbol on the first reel.

During our session of about 100 spins, the game behaved exactly like a highly volatile fruit slot. We hit plenty of dead spins (including an 11-spin dry spell) and a lot of fractional stake wins. Our best base game hit was a mere 3.8x from a multi-line watermelon connection. You aren’t playing the base game for big hits; you’re playing it to trigger the carts.
The Trigger Mechanic: Pure RNG
If you’ve played Endorphina’s 5 Witch Pots, you’ll recognize the trigger mechanic here. When a colored coin lands, it flies up to its cart. It will either trigger the bonus or do nothing at all.
The game is admirably transparent about the math: there is no collection meter. A cart that has swallowed 50 coins is no more likely to pop than a cart that just took its first. It’s pure RNG.
The Bonus Features: What’s in the Carts?
When a cart finally fires, the game really opens up. Your potential depends entirely on which color triggered:
- Red Cart: Miner Games, 20 free games with stacked wilds and the third reel full of Jokers.
- Blue Cart: The Jackpot bonus game, a pick game that runs until you find three award symbols of one kind.
- Green Cart: Pick’em, a gemstone pick game. Finding three Grand Gems here awards the game’s 2,500x Max Win.
- Purple & Orange Carts: Collect and Boost, two Hold and Win games on a 20-cell grid, with an extra 1,000x Ultra prize on top if all 20 cells fill.
Inside the Orange Boost Grid
During our session, the base game was quiet until an Orange coin finally triggered the Boost game.
This is a standard 3-respin Hold-and-Win feature, but with a great twist. Alongside standard coins (up to 18x) and plaques (up to 100x), you can land a “Boost” symbol. When this hits, it adds its own value (1x to 10x) to every single prize already locked on the board before turning into a standard coin itself.
Our feature ran for a solid 26 respins and showed exactly how lucrative this scaling mechanic can be. Early on, two 1x Boosts landed while the board was still sparse and only nudged the few prizes on it. But on our 16th respin, with 12 prizes already locked in, a 2x Boost landed. It instantly doubled the grid’s running total from 26x to 52x in a single drop. We eventually dead-spun with 16 out of 20 cells filled, walking away with a 56x win.

One weird UX quirk to note: When the feature ends, the game doesn’t instantly credit your balance. The win sits pending alongside a card-gamble option, treating your long bonus round exactly like a standard line win. You have to manually hit “Take Win” to update your balance.

The 2,500x max win isn’t going to break industry records, and the base game can feel harsh with the restricted Wilds and low-paying fruits.
The feature variety is fantastic. The fact that any random coin can suddenly pull you into one of five completely different bonus rounds keeps the anticipation high.
