If you’ve played slots for more than a few years, you know the Big Time Gaming (BTG) family tree. It started with Bonanza back in 2016, and evolved into the wildly popular Extra Chilli in 2018. Now, skipping over a few weird spin-offs, we’ve got the 2026 release: Extra Chilli More Chilli.
So, what’s actually new? Under the hood, not much. It’s still a highly volatile 6-reel Megaways game with that familiar Extra Reel at the bottom. But BTG has bumped the max win up to 30,000x your stake. The only visual giveaway that you’re playing the new version is sitting right above the grid: four cast-iron pots that toss out some interesting new modifiers.
Here is what you need to know before you spin.
The Megaways Illusion (and the Brutal Base Game)
Seeing 117,649 ways to win on the screen feels like a promise that you’re about to get paid, but the math rarely agrees. You can easily land a board with 1,728 ways to win and still get back less than your bet.

Because the game has so many ways to connect, the paytable is incredibly flat. The top symbol is the purple chilli, and even if you line up a perfect six-of-a-kind, it only pays 15x. Every single bit of that 30,000x max win potential relies completely on getting into the free spins and building a massive multiplier.
During my test run, the base game felt pretty dead. The hit rate is supposedly around 29%, but most of my “wins” didn’t even cover the cost of the spin. A quick warning on RTP (Return to Player): The top RTP is 96.39%, but casinos can lower this game all the way down to 86.31%. Always check the help file before you play!
The New Pots: Cool Features, but at a Cost
Those four pots above the reels are the main attraction. On any random base spin, one can trigger a “Chilli Bonus Respin.”
- Duplicate Wild: Spreads wilds from a firework symbol.
- Increased Ways: Forces at least four symbols onto every reel.
- Double Multiplier: Makes your cascade multiplier jump by +2 instead of +1.
- Chilli Wild: Turns all green chillis in the middle reels wild.
If you’re impatient, there’s a “Power Play” button. For 5x your bet, you can trigger these respins more often. But honestly? It’s a gamble. Paying 5x your stake doesn’t make the free spins any more likely to land, and you can easily pay that premium just to win pennies on a dead spin.
The Gamble Wheel is Back (and Still Stressful)
To get the bonus natively, you still need to spell out H-O-T with scatters. That gets you 10 free spins and one of the pot modifiers.
Before the spins start, you face the infamous Free Spins Gamble wheel. You can risk your 10 spins to try and win a second pot modifier. If you lose on the first two wheels, your bonus is totally gone. (If you lose on the final purple wheel, they take pity on you and just give you the 10 spins anyway).

Weird design choice: If you get insanely lucky and land 6 or more scatters, the game actually disables the gamble wheel. It locks you out of the risk mechanic right when you have the most leverage.

The Bonus Buy: Beware the Multiplier Trap
If you want to skip the grind, you can buy the bonus for 100x your stake. It gives you 10 spins and one modifier (and yes, you can still gamble on the wheel).
Once you’re in, the multiplier is uncapped and goes up with every winning cascade. But here is the fundamental flaw of this game: the multiplier tracks reactions, not cash value.
You can gamble your 100x buy, win a second modifier, get your multiplier up into the mid-twenties, and still watch the bonus totally flop. Why? Because the cascades driving your multiplier up are usually made of cheap Royals (9s, 10s, Jacks). It’s incredibly frustrating to stare at a multiplier in the mid-twenties while the bank behind it has barely crawled past a couple of stakes.
The Verdict
Is a 30,000x max win awesome? Absolutely (even if it’s smaller than BTG’s Burgers slot at 102,840x). But getting anywhere near that cap requires a perfect storm. You need non-stop retriggers and a board full of premium purple chillis, not just low-paying filler.
Extra Chilli More Chilli is exactly what it says on the tin: it’s Extra Chilli, just… more. The new pots change the scenery, but they don’t change the math underneath. If you loved the original, you’ll love this. Just respect the volatility, because that uncapped multiplier spends most of its time multiplying fractions of a bet.
