Honest Review: Is Amigo Gaming’s 3 Fat Kings Worth Your Time?

I’ve been spinning 3 Fat Kings by Amigo Gaming lately, and I’ve got some thoughts. If you’re thinking about giving it a try, here’s what you actually need to know before you load up your balance.

The Base Game: An Illusion of Winning

Let’s be real – the base game here is a bit of a grind. It’s a 5×4 grid, and at first glance, it feels like it’s paying out constantly. You’ll hit something on about a third of your spins. But don’t let that fool you.

Hitting a win and actually making money are two different things here. Unless you hit five 777s (which pays 100x), you’re mostly just getting a steady drip of pocket change. For example, if you line up a full row of cherries, you literally just get your original bet back. Most of the time, a “winning” spin doesn’t even cover half your stake. You’ll sit through plenty of 10+ spin dead streaks, slowly bleeding your balance while you wait for a bonus to trigger.

Don’t Fall for the “Meter” Trap

As you play, you’ll see tokens fly up into meters for the three Fat Kings sitting above the reels. It looks like you’re building up to something, right? Spoiler alert: you aren’t.

I actually appreciate that the game is transparent about this in the rules, but those visual meters mean absolutely nothing. Waking up a king is 100% random. You could trigger a bonus on an empty meter or spin 50 times on a “full” one. Just ignore them.

The Missing Mini-Game

There’s technically a secondary “Pick’em” bonus game if you land three bonus symbols. It has a top prize of 1,000x your bet. I say technically because this feature is a ghost. I played a very long test session and didn’t trigger it once. If you miss that third symbol, you don’t even get a consolation payout – just a dead spin. Don’t play expecting to see this feature.

The Main Event: The PIN WIN Round (Where the game gets good)

This is the only real reason to play 3 Fat Kings. When you finally wake up one (or more) of the kings, it triggers a Hold-and-Respin game. The board clears, and you get 3 lives to land coins. Every time a new coin lands, your lives reset to 3.

What makes this actually fun are the Kings themselves. Each one brings a special power:

  • The Blue King (Payer): Adds extra value to every coin already on the board.
  • The Red King (Boost): Multiplies one specific coin by up to 10x.
  • The Green King (Collect): This is the best one. He banks the value of all the coins on the board, but leaves them there. So if you get another collect, you get paid for them all over again.

If you get really lucky and trigger all three kings at once, the game is smart enough to do the math in your favor: It adds the extra value first, multiplies it second, and collects it last. That’s how you get the big payouts.

To Buy or Not to Buy?

You can skip the base game grind and buy the bonus feature for 69x your bet. But here is a massive detail you need to know: buying the bonus actually lowers the game’s RTP (Return to Player) from 96.05% down to 94.99%.

Even if you buy it, it’s tough to get a massive win. I had a bonus round run for almost 30 spins with all three kings awake, and it still stalled out at less than 100x my bet. If you manage to fill all 20 spaces on the board, you get a 1,000x bonus (the absolute max win is 4,000x), but that is incredibly rare.

The Verdict

3 Fat Kings is a game of extremes. The bonus round modifiers are genuinely fun and well-designed, but the fruit-themed base game underneath it is just a really busy way to slowly drain your wallet while you wait for a king to wake up. Play it for the bonus features, but keep an eye on your bankroll.
