Kong Even More Money gameplay screenshot

Let’s talk about Blueprint Gaming’s newest slot, Kong Even More Money. On the surface, it looks great, you’ve got bananas with cash values up to 1,000x your stake right on the reels, plus four jackpots sitting at the top of the screen.

But after spending some time with it, I have to be honest: the math behind this game is pretty rough, and the base game is incredibly frustrating. Here’s what you actually need to know before you play.

The Base Game is a Giant Tease

The game runs on a 5×3 grid with 10 paylines, and it relies heavily on a “cash collect” mechanic. You will see bananas with cash values land all the time. The catch? They pay nothing unless a specific “Collect” symbol lands on the very last reel at the exact same time.

I can’t tell you how many times I had screens full of premium bananas, 10.5x, 12x, even higher, only to win exactly zero dollars because that collect symbol didn’t show up. It turns the base game into a gallery of dead spins.

Regular line wins don’t help much either; they’re mostly tiny (think 1x or 2x your bet), so you’re just slowly bleeding your balance while waiting for the ape to do something.

The “Express Bet” Feels Like a Tax

There is no feature buy in this game. Instead, there’s an “Express Bet.” You can choose to pay 50% extra per spin to increase your chances of hitting the bonus.

But here is the kicker: if you pay that extra 50%, the RTP (Return to Player) stays exactly the same, the max win stays the same, and when you do hit the bonus, the payouts are calculated on your base bet, not the inflated price you paid. You are literally just paying a premium to make the game less boring.

(Side note on RTP: The best version of this game sits at a low 94%, but watch out, casinos can drop it to 93%, 91%, or even 90%.)

The Bonus Round (The Only Reason to Play)

If you manage to get three scatters, you finally get to the bonus. And honestly? The bonus mechanic is actually really cool.

You get three spins, and a giant 2×2 Kong sits on the screen. Any cash values that land directly on him are collected. If a crown symbol lands, your spins reset to three, and Kong grows. If you get enough crowns, he can eventually take up an 8×5 grid.

The problem is the same frustration from the base game carries over. When Kong is small, you’ll watch big cash values land just one inch away from him, and you get nothing. If you can grow him to full size, that’s where the 10,000x max win lives, but getting him there is a long climb.

How does it compare to other Kong games?

It feels like a downgrade. Most of the recent King Kong Cash games have bigger grids, more ways to win, and higher RTPs (usually around 95%).

This game strips away the “ways to win,” gives you 10 basic paylines, lowers the RTP, and keeps the same 10,000x max win. If you look at other games, like Play’n GO’s Rowdy Rabbits, you can find the exact same cash-collect mechanics, but with a 20,000x max win and a much better 96.2% RTP.

The Verdict

A giant ape that physically grows across the screen to collect cash is a genuinely fun mechanic. But the price of admission is just too high. The base game constantly flashes money in your face that you can’t win, and the Express Bet taxes you just to speed up the wait.

Unless you are a die-hard fan of the Kong series, your money is probably better spent elsewhere.
