The casino lobbies are absolutely flooded with Egyptian-themed slots. To stand out in the land of scarabs and pyramids, a game needs a solid hook. Miracle of Cleopatra attempts to do this by combining expanding wilds with a classic symbol-upgrade mechanic in the bonus round.

After putting a good few hundred spins through this one, I found a game that is surprisingly forgiving in the base game, but perhaps lacks the big punch hardcore volatility chasers are looking for.

The Setup and Paytable

Under the theme, this is a very traditional 5×3 slot with 10 fixed paylines. A quick glance at the paytable reveals that the math is heavily bottom-weighted. Landing three-of-a-kind royals will only get you half your stake back, and even the lower premium picture symbols (the lotus and the crook-and-flail) just return your bet for a line of three.

The real money is entirely concentrated at the top. The jewelled crown is the symbol you are chasing, paying out a respectable 50x for a full line of five.

Cleopatra acts as the Wild, but she comes with a few caveats. She only lands on the middle three reels (2, 3, and 4) and carries no multiplier. Because she never lands on reel 1, she can’t start a winning combo: she can only extend one. The upside? Whenever she lands, she expands to cover the entire reel.

Base Game: The “Second Chance” Respin

Base games on 10-line slots can be notoriously dry, but the developers have thrown in a free second shot here.

If an expanded Wild lands and doesn’t connect to create a win, it locks in place while the other four reels respin once for free. (Note: If the wild completes a win immediately, you just get paid and the spin ends).

During my session, this mechanic triggered fairly often. It mostly serves to break up the monotony of the base game without eating into your balance. In reality, a lot of these respins spin to dead, though I did have one eventually line up enough Queens to pay 3x. My best base-game hits actually came when multiple wilds landed at once: one spin dropped expanded wilds on reels 2 and 3 next to a Jack and a Lotus, paying across all 10 lines for a 6.5x return. It’s not going to make you rich, but it keeps the balance ticking over.

The Free Spins: Climbing the Upgrade Ladder

There’s no Bonus Buy option, so the only door is three or more golden pyramid scatters anywhere on the reels, which trigger 10 Free Spins.

Once you’re in the bonus, the game shifts gears. The free respin is switched off, but the expanding Cleopatra wild takes on two much better jobs:

  1. Extra Spins: One wild in a spin adds +1 spin to your total and two add +3. If you manage the rare feat of landing three at once, you get +5 spins.
  2. Symbol Upgrades: Every wild that lands permanently upgrades the lowest-paying picture symbol on the reels to the next tier up.

There’s a progress bar above the grid tracking your climb: Wands become Flowers, Flowers become Ankhs, Ankhs become Scarabs, and so on, until everything is transformed into the top-tier Crown.

In my bonus session, I managed to land three wilds over the course of the feature. This pushed the pointer far enough to turn all the wands, flowers, and ankhs into scarabs. By the final few spins, the reels were noticeably richer. I hit a four-scarab and three-scarab combo on a single spin for 14.5x, bringing my total bonus win to 36.5x. It wasn’t a monster hit, but it perfectly showcased how the math of the game changes as the feature progresses.

Fair, but Capped Potential

If you are looking for a game with a 10,000x max win and wild multipliers, this isn’t it. Miracle of Cleopatra doesn’t print a max win anywhere, and what it has instead is a per-round cash limit, which at the 200 top stake works out to 1,250x your bet. For context, if you like expanding wilds but want higher potential, Yggdrasil’s 3 Piggies of Bank offers a 5,625x max win (though it uses a hold-and-win feature rather than free spins).

To get anywhere near that limit, you need the Crown symbol. A full screen of Crowns running through three expanded wilds pays 500x, and the bonus round is explicitly designed to help you build that exact board.

The chase here isn’t about waiting for a sudden, massive multiplier to drop. You are hoping to land enough wilds early in the bonus to permanently transform the reels, turning your final few spins into a parade of premium symbols. It’s a fair, well-balanced game that will appeal to casual players and fans of classic upgrade mechanics, even if the max win potential feels a bit dated for today’s market.
