Riddec Games is finally branching out: Sari-Sari Shop is their very first cluster-pays slot.

The theme alone won me over. Set in a traditional Filipino corner store, you’re watched over by “Tita Nene” in her hair curlers while matching cascading blocks of lechon, ube ice cream, and fruit salad. It’s incredibly charming, culturally specific, and a breath of fresh air compared to the endless sea of Egyptian tombs and leprechauns we usually review.

But does the gameplay match the great artwork?

The Base Game: A Matter of Patience

With a very high volatility rating and a slightly below-average RTP of 95.02%, the base game can be a bit of a grind.

You need clusters of five or more matching symbols to trigger a cascade. The star of the show here is the multiplier symbol, drawn as a clear bag of sweets. In the base game, these drop alongside regular symbols and add their values together if you hit a win. There are no wilds in this game, and the multiplier bags disappear after one cascade if they don’t connect.

Over my base spins, I found the base game asks for a lot of patience. Most of my hits were small (0.20x to 0.90x), with the occasional multiplier bag turning a modest cluster into a nice 10x top-up to keep the balance ticking over while hunting for the four scatters needed to trigger the bonus.

The Free Spins: Where It Comes Alive

If the base game is a slow burn, the Free Spins feature is an absolute bonfire. This is where Sari-Sari Shop truly shines.

Once you’re in the bonus, the multiplier bags stop vanishing. Instead, every bag that lands adds its value to a persistent global counter that does not reset between spins. It just keeps building and applies to any winning cluster.

The snowball effect is the whole appeal: the counter only ever goes up during the round, so any winning spin is worth more than the last one that paid.

If you’d rather skip the wait, the game sells its bonus directly. The standard 100x buy gets you 15 free spins, while the 500x “super” buy gets you 20 spins and comes with better odds of higher-value multiplier bags, so the counter can climb faster from the first spin.

Your mileage will vary (that’s high volatility for you!), but it’s a great illustration of how quickly this game can pay out once that counter gets rolling.

A quick word of warning on the Special Bets: You can pay 250x your stake to guarantee a bag worth at least 50x on a single spin. Just remember you are buying the multiplier, not a guaranteed win: the bags still need a cluster to line up next to them. It’s a high-risk gamble for the brave.

However, what Riddec lacks in RTP, they make up for in sheer character and a highly entertaining bonus round. For a studio’s first-ever step into cluster-pays, away from the lines and ways of its Jumping Bells and Hamsterpunk series, this is a remarkably confident release. If you can handle the volatile base game, the escalating multipliers in the free spins make Sari-Sari Shop well worth a visit.
